Buying & Storing Tips

Broccoli should have a fresh smell, a bright green color, and firm, tender stalks. Store broccoli unwashed in a perforated plastic bag in the vegetable crisper. For maximum nutrient value, wash and use within a few days of purchase.

Don’t take our word for it though…
let the kids of Smith’s Farm show you what we look for on our broccoli farm!

Broccoli contains twice the vitamin C of an orange…

has almost as much calcium as whole milk…

contains selenium, a mineral that has anti-cancer and antiviral properties…

and is a modest source of vitamin A and alpha-tocopherol vitamin E!

Including broccoli in our diets can reduce the risk of ailments like cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, and heart disease!
