Fast Facts About Cauliflower

Cauliflower has been a staple of the human diet since the 1500s, being grown around Asia and the Mediterranean sea. Later on, it slowly made its way to Europe through traders. It was only in the early 1900s, when cauliflower made its way to the United States. Currently, the largest producing state of cauliflower is California, while China is the largest producer of the vegetable overall. It can be grown in different climates, like right here at Smith’s Farm in Maine!

Cauliflower is most closely related to broccoli, with the two sharing many of the same health benefits. While broccoli is known for its bright green coloring, Cauliflower can come in numerous colors such as white, yellow, and even purple.
