Tara educated a class of pre-schoolers on the basics of growing broccoli and cauliflower today. The children were taught about optimal growing conditions and the learned the difference between crowns and bunches- there may be some broccoli left in the hair of the kids as they “crowned” themselves!!
Slideshows of the farms and harvest crews gave the kids a view of the “roots” of the broccoli they see in the grocery store.
All of the kids were able to take home a “silly squeezer” (either a broccoli or cauliflower shaped stress ball!), to squeeze their silly into!
